Waiting for you

Gliding down through the wind
i land and rest, waiting for you
i have come a long ways
but you are definitely worth the wait

closing my eyes for a brief moment
i drift into a blissful sleep
when i awaken you still aren't here
but yet i sit, still patiently waiting

years pass by, you haven't arrived,
my hope is growing weaker with each passing minute
but naive as i am, i still sit waiting

looking around, reality overcomes me
you aren't coming, no matter how hard i pray

i waited for you as my life passed me by
but in the end you didn't come through
but I'm still sitting here, now crying,
but still waiting for you
