My Angel

by Prolific Angel   Apr 27, 2006

I saw her. She stood there and watched me apply my make-up
Mascara first, then shimmer powder
Last lip gloss, she watched me
As I painted my lips mocha gold
she just........watched me
I began to think, who is this person
Sitting so contently watching
"what would she want to watch me for"
I asked myself, noticing me as i put on my gold hoops
This women, watching me was beautiful
She had a glow to her, a radiance no make-up, no jewelry
I touched her face, she smiled
For some strange reason, I thought she was.... an angel
No, she couldn't be
I looked up and spoke to god
"Lord everyone has an angel, where is mine?"
Where is my angel to comfort me so that I feel happy with my appearance without only wearing make-up and jewelry, covered in artificial beauty
Where is my angel to talk as well as listen when i long for conversation
Where is she when i cry and need comforting
then I caugt a reflection of myself, as a younger child
then the women appeared in my mirror again
As beautiful as before, god hadn't answered, or so I thought
However he had, I took off my earring
Removed every last bit of make-up
I took my hair down
The woman in the mirror new had radiant wings, new, bright, made of light
she looked just like me, without all the extras
My angel, my angel was here all along.................................
She was me
