The Wrath Within

by Robyn Park   Feb 8, 2004

They gaze upon my face
and see me, but not within me.
I want so much to scream, to claw and slash out in rage.
But my body is bound.
I am nonexistent to them.
And I cry out in pain-in frustration,
but no sound arises.
To them I am but a lifeless corpse,
empty and hopeless.
But then-
My rage breaks free and the wrath within emerges.
