My dear sweet Nan

by gemowski   Apr 28, 2006

It was so hard seeing you there, ever so thin with not much hair.

at first i did not believe it was you,
your chubby face now thin and blue.

At first i had to walk away to take a breath, and think what to say.

but you looked so peaceful lying the, still looking at you i just couldn't bare.

my poor little Nana so skinny and frail, you could hardly lift a nail.

I'll still never know if you knew it was me, sat beside you that very last day.

an if I'd known it would be the last i would of spoke about blasts from the past.

but now i know your still with me every moment of every day.

and you are safe no more pain.
And I've lernt that life's one big hard game.

rest in peace my dear sweet Nan for i now know that one day we'll meet again.
