The Invisible Wound

by The Queen of Spades   Apr 28, 2006

Walking calmly down the road
and suddenly, struck, is my head
i shake as i touch the hole
where i feel it has bled

i'm still walking, shaking, trembling
the people are blurs around me
i struggle to conceal the pain
to avoid bittersweet pity

but the throbbing grows and grows
nearly more than i can bear
and soon my hands cannot cover
the overwhelming tear

so i let go of my concealment
the gap that has becomeme
it is there for all to witness
but its funny how no one sees

I can relate to the emotion you were trying to convey.. I have been there..trying to be strong so no one can see that you are in pain. Now I think one is braver if they wear their pain on their sleeves.. great work
