The Lover With Flamed Coloured Wings

by Poppy   Apr 28, 2006

I was a young lass,
When I first saw the creature,
It was taller than most men,
And glowed with such power.

Twas a windy day,
Upon the beach,
I could not see,
Which cause me to dismay,

I was a bonny wee girl,
When I fell into its arms,
It helped me back on to my feet,
Giving me aid when I was weak.

It grabbed me with strong arms,
As I fell to the sandy floor,
Pulling me up right,
And holding me tight.

I was an innocent child,
When I meet this thing,
It stood with its head held high,
And moved with such grace.

He had such mystical eyes,
Grey as the tormented sky,
He had flame red wings,
That where larger than I'd ever seen.

I was a...

He touched my cheek,
And warmed with his touch,
My heart did swell,
And it did so flutter.

He was a...

I was in love with this monster,
A creature of tales,
He kissed my lips once,
And smiled such a sad smile.

He told me that someday,
We would be together,
He told me he loved me,
And would do forever.
