Ridicule and Laughter

by Jemma   Apr 28, 2006

Someone's Laughing
Who is it that insists on breaking the calming quiet?
How is they intrude upon my self
As I am fighting so desperately to think myself away
Somewhere far, far away
And then perhaps I could be the one laughing
Just maybe
In another world
The opposite of this dim, dull place
Somewhere different
And I'm not there
Will I ever be there?
I'm still here
And they're laughing at me and I don't care
But they're disturbing my calm
An effort to escape into the labyrinth of my mind
My sanctuary, the only safe place
But I am not safe
Though I reach the castle walls
And I look at my only chance of sanity and survival
For one reason or another
The door is always shut
