Fallen

by l t b   Apr 29, 2006

I was falling.
Falling through a darkness of pain,
of confusion,
of lonliness.
I was trying my best
to grab onto something.
Anything that would pull me out
and set me free. I saw my friends.
They were being swallowed.
I reached out to their hands
But it always seemed to slip like sand
through my hands.
They tried to get me away. They called my name. Words of encouragement
and persuasion came from the tip of their tongue and into the air. They were
trying to save me But their words
just couldn't do it.
Then I felt this feeling. I felt like I was safe.
Someone had caught me.
In that one motion, they saved me without using words that could've been lies.
He caught me.
He caught me with his own arms.
He came into the darkness and
fought it away from me.
That moment I fell into his arms, I was happy.
My world became light and the darkness
began to wilt away. Scared of this new protector that approached me.
He puts me down and I can stand. I wasn't falling anymore.
I realized that I had found my foundation.
He kept me strong and kept me up.
And most of all, he kept me smiling with happiness.
