A Love Returned

by Meg Carpenter   Apr 29, 2006

She runs like a raven in the twilight night.
Afraid of how much she has lost
No one to turn to for love and compassion
She runs like never before. Afraid to look back.
Looking back at the horror that has become of her life.
Her heart has been torn in half, never to be whole again
Unless she gets to be a part of his world.
She doesn't bother to look back.
She just runs, runs to the arms she knows best.

Shot down in the heart like a hunter shoots for sport
Her life will never be the same again.
Knowing she made a mistake, learned a lesson
Knowing that he'll never give her another chance.

Afraid of the end results.
She runs like a raven in the twilight night.
Afraid to admit her feelings for him will never change.
The girl wants to know if he still loves her.

Not knowing what could be awaiting her when she gets there.
She takes a chance and goes to her destination.
She ends up bringing down the road behind her with every step.
She lies lifeless in the wood.

Her "Prince Charming" comes to save her and the day.
Only to find that his Raven was taken away.
The one girl who had never stopped loving and caring for him, gone.
Never to return.

The boy comes down with a sudden urge.
An urge to take his own life away.
One that is caused due to a real love.
One that can never be replaced.

Up in the dark side of the heavens
They are reunited
Together forever
In the arms of each other.
