A man came to me
Says he wants to be mine
"Take my hand,
Stay with me till the end of time.
I wanna love you forever, be all that you need.
Hold you tight, keep you safe, just please come with me"
Doubtful and weary
I say with a smile
"I'm flattered, really,
But it may take a while.
We've only just met,
So how can you know,
That you really wanna be with me,
That you really love me so.
I do wanna trust you,
But I’ve been hurt b4.
I wanna believe what you say is for sure
But how can I know that its not just an act?
A game that you're playin' or a set up for that fact.?"
He says "baby you're all that I’ve been lookin' for,
You can believe me or not, but I know my loves for sure.
I wish I could show you, but I guess time will tell.
Someday you will see and then all will be well"
He told me all the things that I wanted to hear
But still I kept my distance out of distrust and fear,
But slowly intrigued and like a curious cat I began to wonder what if?
And that was the end of that.
I told him that maybe he did have a chance
And suddenly I'm taken into this whirlwind romance.

Yet still he insists I'm an angle from above
It seemed there was nothin' I could say nor do
It became to seem as if his love just may be true
Then it all became clear once I gave him my heart
'Cause just as I thought, he ripped it apart.
Did he ever even love me, I don't believe so
But still to this day, he wont let me go
