Loss of words

It's getting harder and harder
to have to see the affection
you show to her without question,
why must i fight for your attention?
that is all I've ever wanted
is for you to show you care
how many more poems, how many more tears,
will it take to show you I'm serious
i write these words to tell you
what it is i need
i don't think its too much for you
to show your love for me
she gets it with no question
while i, i have to ask
i don't know why you hold out from me
i just want you to think I'm special
and show me your love
i just want to be good enough
but you make it seem as if I'm not enough
why can't you care for me
as i need you too
i sit here broken, you said you'd fix me
my soul is half way empty
and my from my heart, flows pain
and yet i sit here waiting
praying for the day you'll choose to come to me
and take my pain away
