I Forgive You

When my eyes glanced upon you
that first day you were here
I couldnt help but stare
the reason was unclear.
I got the courage of my life
and asked you to a dance
you didn't even know me
so I expected not a chance.
But to my surprise you said you would
and you surely made my day,
But sadly, i was not to know
my gladness wouldn't stay.
You said that it was different
you said you'd go alone
but then you asked another girl
it hit me like a stone,
and althought I told her to say yes
told her I wouldnt mind,
I knew that i was really sad
and really wanted to cry.
You didn't have to tell me yes
I would've been ok,
but no, you chose to break my heart
but that'll go away.
Now that I've written all this down,
I think I'll be alright.
After all, you said you'd dance with me
at the dance, on that night.
So I guess I'm saying I forgive you
although you hurt me oh so much,
I know that when I dance with you,
I'll barely feel your touch.
