Back Home

A young boy,
Lost in his imaginative mind...
He's in deep,
Dark woods.
Fighting off frogs, toads
And then
He's fighting a ferocious dragon;
In an empty meadow
With all the birds and bees
Chirping and buzzing
All about.

It is soon to be lunch
As his stopwatch beeps.
Just in the knick of time
As he is running
Across the rickety drawbridge;
Escaping all of his fears.

As he gets
Closer to his backyard fence;
He hears his mother calling
And will soon be safe again,
Back in his mother's arms.

    Good poem. It really captures the imagination of a child... for lack of a better word, it's cute...
