Blue Footed boobie

by melly xx   May 1, 2006

Let them be as peacocks
adored, beautiful, loved.
yet hunted and killed
Let them be stuffed
and displayed, always stared at

I'd rather be a blue footed Boobie
with an awkward appearance
and a humorous name

my blue feet scurrying across
where the waves crash upon the sand,
my feathers, soaking in
the warmth of the sun
doing whatever i please,
and not having a care in the world

I'd rather be laughed
at and ignored,
than to be awed at and
be known for my dazzling feathers
waiting to be bathed in luxury

If i could be unique,
be one of a kind,
and have bright blue feet,
than I'd rather be a blue footed Boobie
