When i felt like crying
my eyes didn't tear,
when i felt like screaming
there was nothing to fear.
when i felt like being quiet
there was always something to say,
when i felt like letting it out
i could never find a way.
when i felt like i was alone
everyone was around,
when i felt like running away
my feet could never find the ground.
when i felt like complaining
i didn't want to whine,
when i felt like i was guilty
i hadn't committed a crime.
when i felt like i was being watched
no one's eyes were on me,
when i felt like i was a slave
i never had the guts to try and break free.
when i felt like talking continually
i just sat and stared at the phone,
when i felt like the world hated me
it was so hard to stay strong.
just because i felt these things
doesn't mean they've gone away,
it just means I've learned to cope
with these feelings everyday.
