A Young Girls Prayer

by laura   May 2, 2006

Just the other night I heard a young girl praying to herself.
As I stopped to listen, I was surprised at what I heard.
She asked God "Why am I like the unwanted book left alone on the bookshelf?
All I want is a boy that I can keep all to myself."
As the girl went on I was finding myself asking God the same question,
And I felt sorry for that young girl,
Having to harbor all of that depression.
As I listened again, I was shocked at what I heard next,
This young girl was making me quite perplexed.
She asked God the exact same question that I had asked him just the night before:
"God, please let him find me, don't make my heart hurt anymore!"
I was very spooked after this, so I headed back home,
I laid in bed and picked up the phone.
My friend answered on the other end,
And I begged her for any comforting words she could send.
To what my friend said next, I had to agree,
For this young girl's story sounded a lot like me....
