Memiors of a beating heart

by Sarah Ramsey   May 3, 2006

Listen to your heart.
Don't walk away from this.
Beating harder heart,
You say it's not your fault.

Let him think its him
switch the blame to them
beating harder heart
tell yourself it's not your fault

Watch her die inside
see all the pain she tries to hide
beating harder heart
deny that its your fault

Lay your head on your pillow
try not to feel so low
beating harder heart
crying that it's not your fault

Take the knife in your hand
feel it cut your skin
beating harder heart
you know it is your fault

Tear them when they see your pain
a guilty conscience left unexplained
beating harder heart
she knew it was her fault

A dark and gloomy day
too many tears to push away
beating harder heart
She couldn't escape the fault

A young girl lays there dead
A mothers lowered head
beating harder heart
she thinks it's now her fault

Fight the tears that make their way
tomorrow is a brand new day
beating harder heart
knowing it wasn't her daughters fault
