He Remembers**

by Cassandra   May 3, 2006

He Remembers**

He laced up his boots
And he strapped on his helmet
And as he crawls out of his foxhole
He remembers the day he was sent

He remembers talking to his mother
And holding her close to his side
He remembers having to wipe the tears
That his little sisters cried

He remembers what his dad said
As he loads up his gun
â??Weâ??ll all be waiting for your return
So please, be careful sonâ??

He remembers all the times
That he got to spend with his brother
And the way if they ever need someone
They could always run to each other

He remembers why heâ??s here today
As he watches another soldier fall
Heâ??s here protecting his homeland
And defending freedom for all
