The War Inside My Head

by Kyle Schulz   May 3, 2006

Black and white, right and wrong,
Where does it begin and end?
Reason and Passion rage in my head,
Neither willing to break or bend,

Religion, Tolerance: the names of conflicts,
That have cost me my sanity,
But these are just shadows of the battles,
That now quake through humanity,

On one side stands reason,
Logic and analysis side but side,
It remains calm, no matter the storm,
Demanding issues be proven and justified,

On the other stands passion,
Hate, love, sadness, and joy in one,
Willing to die, just for a chance,
That all of God's will be done,

Battle lines have been drawn,
The field has been set,
But no matter the victor here,
The war is not over yet.
