The Kissing Bridge

By the way you're looking at me
With the twinkle in your eye
You're coming off as a little nervous
I hope tonight I'll get my kiss goodbye

On that fateful night we met
I remember it was a summer's night
On top of the lover's bridge
We shared our first kiss

Sparkling stars danced across the sky
Our bodies swayed as we held each other
As the water wandered its course beneath
Our lips touched, heat spread within us

Atop the arching bridge
Our lips met tenderly
Fireworks went off, sparks flew
It was a first for me

My first kiss in the evening
The first of more to appear
Upon that picturesque bridge
Our feelings can be clear

Taking this feeling
That I once longed for
Up upon the river tonight
I ask you for one more

As I ran my thumb across your lips
Your eyes sparkling like the northern star
I closed my eyes kissing you softly
Promising you that I'd never be far

The warmth of your breath relaxed me
As you whispered softly in my ear
Stroking my cheek with your fingers
Gently kissing my nose with a smile

With the morning sunrise gently gliding
Upon this moment our embrace finalized
Forsaken lover's we shall be after this night
I shall always remember the kissing bridge
