Picture

I stare at the picture in my hand;
A tear rolls down my cheek;
The two of us sitting in the sand;
Our last time at the creek;

I remember that hot summer, your first car;
Going anywhere, just to be gone;
The accident still left a scar;
One that went deeper than flesh and bone;

That was the summer I lost you;
I lost so much more than a friend;
Now I don't know what to do;
It wasn't supposed to end.
