Where She Can Fly

by xbloodonyourfloorx   May 4, 2006

She was only a child;
Forced to grow up too fast;
Injuries serious and mild;
Her arm still in a cast;

Daddy left when she was young;
She wished he had taken her too;
Mommy's harsh words and slaps stung;
And no one had a clue;

The neighbors pretended they didn't see;
It wasn't their business to mind;
They drowned out the nightly screams;
They ignored the signs;

The crowd gapes at the flashing red lights;
Mommy pretends to cry;
This wasn't like the other nights;
The police see through her lie;

People look on as they lay her 'neath the stone;
Why wasn't something done, they ask, why?
But it's too late, now she's gone;
To a place where she can fly.
