Lullaby Catastrophe

by anna   May 4, 2006

Undiscovered space
The labyrinth of your dreams
consumed by the indescribable feeling
That it's just not what it seems

Over, under, turn the corner
Through and around the bend
These infinite hallways in which I wind
Don't seem to have an end

Shadows of the unknown
Seem to put me in a daze
While they continue to gain ground
on me in this maze

Dark shapes on the wall
accompany visions of the insane
indeed they're only shadows
yet I'm frightened all the same

And until I swallow my pride
And confront I'm merely sleeping
my made up mystery monsters
will continue creeping

Before these beasts bedevil me
and rip me limb from limb
I begin to gain alertness
and confront the state I'm in

Surreal turns to spoof
and sensible from the strange
my power over these demons
Begin to rearrange

A new idea arises
the power to fight back
then my fear disappears
and I'm ready to attack

Head first, i plow into them
Enemies fall one by one
and shiver at the sight
of my shiny 41'

I fly quicker and quicker
through every gate and door
until my eyes rapidly flutter
and I dream no more.
