Silence

by barbara   May 4, 2006

There she sits all alone
She only wants someone to hear
She calls aloud but no ones home
There is nobody near

She looks to her mom for help and support
Her mom her mother says silence
She tries to pour out her heart
But her mother sees only defiance

She calls to her friends but no one cares
She's only one other person
She seeks assistance through her despair
But not a soul cares if she's hurtin

Her Aunt always seemed to care
So she runs to her looking for help
But even though she seems to be there
She still is saying silence

She runs around and around in a circle
Looking for someone to care
She only hears silence as she cries alone
And quietly she says a prayer

Her heart bears so many wounds
Wounds that can not heal
She been silenced so many times
She has lost her ability to feel

So she sits in the corner
and she cries through her pain
but she remembers horror
from her past once again

even before she lived every day
feeling alone and heartbroken
she always thought that there was no way
to retrieve what had been stolen

her pride her passion her love of life
gone in a second of fear
shed lost her hopes her dreams and
everything that she found dear

that selfish act enflicted upon her
by her own flesh and blood
the hatred the fear that she now felt
made her feel like no one else should

You write with such sincerity in your poems, and I think that is one reason that draws me into them. You let everyone know what has happened to the character in your poem and how they are coping. Excellent job. 5/5

    Great again Barbara 5/5
No one should have to go through as much pain as it's clear you have, but remember, as I've said before, it's the pain and hardships that we are forced to go through that make us strong.
