Life likes to twist you up
Bend and turn your every way
Throws you down onto your knees
Making you wonder, "Will I be ok?"
You try and confuse evil's desires
Drug yourself with drinks and smoke
You draw your blood, blame yourself
You feel strangled, and begin to choke
You're left alone, feel abandoned
You're left to cry, to shed you tears
Calling out in anger and hate
You're driven by your chaotic fears
This is when you make your choice
To give in or to keep on going
Realize that as long as you breath
Your heart keeps your blood flowing
Don't be put down into that grave
Just race and run through the test
Take what your given and hold it tight
And continue this life-threatening quest
Depression turns a simple push
Into a blood rushing shove
This is when you taste
All that you are made of
But you'll be ok, no matter what
As long as you give it all
If you trip and stumble on your way
God will be there to catch your fall
Strain your way, ignore those claims,
"Give it up, you're not that strong."
Just stare them down, into their eyes
Tell them the truth, that they are wrong
Every time you get back into the race
You've proven that you are tough
Trust these words, keep on going
Never say that you've had enough
If you're ever brought down again
And think you've lost all your might
Look to the skies, shake it off
Wipe those tears; stand and fight
