My Birthday Wishes

by Jess   May 5, 2006

On my fifth birthday
I wished for a doll
One cuddly and sweet
To catch ever tear that falls

I wanted her to be pretty
To look just like me
I wanted her to be flawless
For I can let the whole world see

I wanted her in pink
My favorite of them all
I wanted her to be glowing
And never seem small

I wanted her to talk
So she can share my world with me
I wanted her to be alive
And see all that I see

Then on my tenth birthday
I wished for a cat
To always be there when I get home
Sleeping on the welcome mat

I wanted her to be white
So soft and fluffy
I wanted her to be pretty
Not to scruffy

I wanted her to be sweet
To lay beside me in bed
I wanted her to my baby
And to watch her be wed

I wanted her to have kids
And leave with me when I die
For her to never leave me
So I wouldn’t have to cry

On my 17 birthday
I asked for a guy
On sophisticated and cute
Someone with his head held high

I wanted him to built
Someone really strong
I wanted him to know
When he has done something wrong

I wanted him to be huge
Someone that is really tall
I wanted him to always be there
To catch every tear that falls

I wanted him to be sweet
Not scare to show his love for me
I wanted him to not care
And let the whole world see

But out of all those wishes
One has only came true
But I guess I am blessed
The day I found you
