Unexspected losses

by Britney Ruthford   May 6, 2006

Sometimes we have to say goodbye
to loved ones we hold dear and close
sometimes we have no choice, and people die
and we bid them farewell with a toast

a toast to help us feel some closure
a toast to make things clear
we lift our glasses in your memory
as we try to fight back the tears

tears; I've cried one to many over this loss
but tears alone relieve my pain
I try my hardest to toughen up
and pass my tears off as drops of rain

the rain that poured as we stood there
head to toe dressed in black
at your funeral we said goodbye
as I begged god to send you back

send you back so my life can once again have meaning
because right now I feel so lost
because it was I who was driving the car
the one from which you were tossed

please vote! not many people have been voting and I really wanna know whether or not my poems are good. thank you.
