The first sacrifice

by Bianca   May 6, 2006

Every other house has a flag
I guess it symbolizes patriotism
So proud to be an American
But being an American
Simply means you were molested by a twisted uncle
Uncle Sam that is....

Life is taxed
The government has found a way to put a price tag on our life
To put a worth to a soul
No one disputes
They just give in-
Fighting means sacrifice
And sacrifice isn't worth freedom nowadays
Democracy is such a joke
The constitution is no longer worthy of it's name
The leaders of our "free world" has manipulated its words
To corrupt its meaning-
Obscuring justice just enough-
Until it no longer means anything
So it leaves me-
In a compromising position,
Do I put truth to history lessons?
Or join in and try to make a dollar off society's naivety?
A soul divided
What I've grown to be-
Should I give in to lies?
And feed off its wealth?
Or make the first sacrifice?
