The Grandfather

by mossgirl19   May 7, 2006

On a hot day he planted seedlings
when a stranger passed by
looked at him and laughed
how silly he said to expect the seed
to grow and make fruits for the old man
the old man looked up and said
"my dear fellow
I am planting these not for myself
but for my grandchildren
since I have come to this world
with trees ready for me,
and its now time for me
to prepare a tree for them.
The stranger strode away
ashamed and touched
how an old wise man
could have realized that.:-)

This is based from a story I have read.
