Darkness

I sit in the darkness of my room
Wondering, waiting, pondering
When will this life of mine end?

All the hate bottled up inside me
Burning, raging, consuming
When will this life of mine end?

I hear a gentle whisper floating through the darkness
Searching, seeking, wanting
When will this life of mine end?

A bright light starts slowly making its way to me
Squinting, watching, gazing
When will this life of mine end?

The light starts to take shape of a human being
She whispers my name as the darkness starts to fade
Looking up at her in a daze fixing to her eyes

Finding out it was you that brought light to my life
Feeling your warm, soft touch for one last time
Before I fade into the everlasting darkness
