Wild Horses

by Weeping Wolf   May 7, 2006

I'm staring out through the mirror
this young girl i see; is it me?
a fading light diminishes from her skin
she still remembers happiness
but the word love is but a memory
Beauty and grace hide beneath
the tangles in her unkept hair
and the small gleam in her eyes
was it only...only a memory?

the scars on her face show
a childhood broken long ago
shes discovered the mistakes
but her trust was replaced
with the lust of disgrace.

Oh the free meadow seems so far...
The past leaves a permanent scar
Live like music, so irresistible
sing like everything is beautiful
don't think of the consequences
Run in freedom fields with wild horses

And when walls start closing in
don't give in...
And where do you go from here
still wondering...
forget the consequences
run with wild horses.

She side-glances sadly,
at the girl she wants to be
But she can't with this fear
of loosing things she loves
of loosing hope and trust
If only I could go headfirst into this
Caution being the feeling i cannot miss

Wish i could tragically forget
and freely love..like i long too...
And then i remember the wild horses
running in the fields..i want to be you...

Feel the wind through your hair...
Sing out loud knowing no one will care!
Free yourself from fear and boundaries!
Abandon yourself and love recklessly!

~WILD HORSES RUN FREE FOREVER!~
