You were there for me
When all seemed darkest
When I couldn't cope
When for a minute I wondered
What would be easier

You truly cared
How I felt and what I did
You knew what it was like
You understood who
I really was.

You didn't mind
That I wasn't cool
That I didn't fit in
You didn't care
What anyone else thought

You were there
You always had something
Nice to say
You helped me smile
Through my tears.
