Forbidden Sacrifice

by Wings Of Flames   May 8, 2006

I hear thoughts flicker,
Like the swaying lamp,
In the apartment of the head,
With drapes long and damp,

I feel the embrace of motion,
Like the distortion of life and death,
Heavy, putrid, unforgiving,
Like a baby's first and last breath,

I see destructive hatred,
Like glass, eyes shine through dark,
Dimmed by the drape,
And an echoed bark,

I taste bitter deceit,
Like two figures laid,
Across a forbidden frame,
Unconscious of what's to be paid,

I smell the bloodshed sacrifice,
With her thought unseen,
Her deceit unconfirmed,
An embrace forgotten and obscene,

She feels of no emotion,
Her outside world torn down,
Hatred of another,
The sacrifice left to drown,

Her grip across the hooks,
Levitating her from floor,
Blood seeping from the rust,
Her soul left to soar.

I'm sorry it's been so long since you wrote the comment, where yo asked me to read this poem but i didn't get it. i only found it by chance. anyway, back to the poem. i loved it. the flow and rhymes were great, though, i think the last line on the third stanza should be a tad longer. the thing about your work is, that it's very creative and intelligent, and it always, always has depth in it. my favorite stanzas have to be the first and second ones. i tried to pick one, but it was just to god damn hard.

This is incredible! I am so impressed and awed by... everything. How it flows, how it fills you full of questions, thoughts and emotion. Wow.
