Civilization

by Kylead   May 8, 2006

A deep dark path lay ahead
followed by a river
Even farther along lay a castle of death and labor built by man
never intended to fall
An invincible fortress
One of the many examples of the genius of man

But before this place of safety was built
There were many other things that stood here
Untouched unscathed
By the modern marvels

A place to raise children
A place to raise a family
A place were little animals would roam
A place nether savage or civilized
Just a place to live life

Now that the castle has been built
Now there is a whistle from the castle
Where the wind once howled

This is called civilization
This is called construction
This is called improving
This is called making the world a better place

Then why is there a castle of steel and ugliness
were a vision of perfect beauty once was.
