Garden of life

by Kylead   May 8, 2006

In this garden of my life
like all others I have my thorns
and the vines that constrict like all the others

My life is like a rose
In order to survive I have thorns to hurt others
I hurt people to survive
I am a passionless flower

I would rather look pretty all the time then tell you how I feel
I rather live and ignore
Then tell you how much humanity has destroyed my world
I cannot speak for I have no voice in the world
Am just a tiny flower

But my roots our deep
They let me bare all the torture
Of the world
I am insulted because I am different from a lot of flowers
I am ugly because the world does not understand me
And all the other flowers do not like me

So they drain my water
and I am slowly rotting?
And my peddles of beauty turning a pale Grey
my type of flower is becoming rare
The bigger and greedier flowers will not share

Some flowers are taking up all the water
Leaving us none because we are smaller
They act as if we are not there
The flowers act as if there suffering is all that matters

But I am suffering down to my roots
And this is my message to them
I am a tiny flower
But my pain is real!!

This piece is really good, the used the metaphor of being a flower very well, it is very effective. You wrote this very well with some clearly well portrayed content, it has much depth yet retains an idea of simplicity. Overall a well written peice
