I can't write a poem

by Grace   May 8, 2006

I can't write a poem
why can't you just see? I can't write a poem,
poems are not for me.

My head is throbbing,
my head is bobbing
I can't think
Let me catch a wink
Soon, I'll start sobbing

My head is going to start breaking
This noise my stomach is making
doesn't sound good
I'd leave if I could
My hands are violently shaking

I'm experiencing double vision
I think I need a major incision
I need more light
I'm losing my sight
My quivering hands have no precision

The alarm rings, oh no!
Time's up, I have naught to show
Hand it in?
That'd be a sin!
I wait for teacher to blow

What? You do say you like it?
What grade do I actually get?
Wow, that good?
I'd do better if I could
The others are in a major snit

I didn't think I could even write
Do it again? I genuinely might
A repeat, not a question,
anytime school's in session
I never knew I had such insight.
