Rainbows

by Kristin   May 9, 2006

A rainbow is so beautiful,
with its colors so bright.
It's so peaceful to look at
and it bring much needed delight.

But the colors of the rainbow
aren't always about love.
They aren't always about happiness
and angels from above.

The red is from the blood
of loved ones who have died.
Red also represents lust
of past lovers of whom you cried.

Orange is the laziness
which is in all of us.
Some just sit around
while others make a fuss.

Yellow is the innocence
that all children were born with
but their innocence has blown away
like paper off a cliff.

Green is for the envy
which many try to hide.
Envy is in everyone and
tears down people's pride.

Blue is the depression,
popping pills is a common cure,
others seek psychiatrists
trying to keep their body pure.

Purple is the bruises
that never leave our skin.
Beating others won't make you happy
God won't forget your sin.

So as you look at a Rainbow
and see happy days of fun.
Look at the darker sides
of pain that weights a ton.
