Thank you to my friend

by Amanda   May 9, 2006

To this beautiful friend of mine,
thank you for taking my hand
Following me into a new world,
into a hidden promise land,

To the wonderful friend of my own,
thank you for taking my heart,
Wrapping it in your love,
and never tearing it apart,

To my magical friend on earth,
thank you for trusting me,
sticking by me in bad times,
when my pain nobody could see,

To the best friend in the world,
thank you for taking my tears,
Tossing them into the ocean,
along with all my fears,

Special friend of the universe,
you are the best god ever made,
Thank you for hugging me tightly,
and telling me never to be afraid,

To the forever friend of all time,
thank you for all you have done,
For teaching me to trust and love,
making me who I have become.

Beautifully written. Similar to the layout of your poem, friends comes in many different types and forms, you did a great job in expressing your sincerity and appreciation to them all. Great job. 5/5

Beautiful since it never reveals who the friend may be, we are open to imagine how it would relate to us and our friends. it was heartfelt and powerful. Emotional and one of the better friendship poems I have read on this site.

The feelings you have and the love that you feel are perfectly displayed in this write. I loved the way that each stanza began in slightly different way of addressing the friend, all to the same effect. I found this poem to be powerful and heartfelt and took great enjoyment in reading it. Aside from the slight flaw mentioned above the whole structure worked brilliantly and the served to create a poem that flowed very nicely indeed. Great stuff, 5/5 x
