Angel

by {Miss} [A][L][L][I][S][O][N]   May 9, 2006

It seems God needed one more angel
To help out in the sky
Try as we might to understand
We still must question why.

So we'll hold each other's shaking hands,
Gaze at the clouds through tear-filled eyes
All the while wondering
If God hears our shameless cries.

Lives spent in vanity
Chasing perfection that doesn't exist
Now we live in somber regret
Of all the days with you we've missed.

We'll swallow our pride now
Let's pretend we're okay
We'll do what you just couldn't
We'll struggle through another day.

Each of us keep searching,
For non-existent blame
But all the pointed fingers in the world
Could never make our lives the same.
