The light of my Life

*I wrote this for my Grandpa to read to my Grandma at their 50th Anniversary...u see my gramps is not much of a poet so he came to me to help him out...Grandma cried...it was so cute...haha*

It's hard to find the words to tell you
How much this all means to me
And standing before you I'm so lucky to say
It's our 50th Anniversary

I'd like to start off by telling you
There's no place I'd rather be
Then here right now looking in your eyes
Thinking you're mine for eternity

Over and over again, around the world I've flown
And I've come to find the most beautiful thing
Was waiting for me at home

50 years you've put up with me
50 years of sunshine and rain
50 years you've held my hand
Through the best of joy and worst of pain

50 years so full of memories
Remember when we first met?
It was the perfect time that I found you
A moment I can't forget

I remember coming home that night
Thinking I've never felt this way
I told my mother I'd marry you
And here we are today

50 years your light has shined
You're my angel, so bright and warm
50 years; you've rescued me
Each time I chased a storm

50 years has given us several names
And you know our favorite four
Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa
These names we most adore

50 years we've built our family
A kingdom for above
Watching all our children grow
Raising them with love

How can I put in simple words
How much I love my wife?
You brighten every single day
You are the light of my life
