Doth the willow tree sigh
as the orchard tree cries
for its lost companions below?
when the cherry blossoms float in the wind,
trying to find some of there kin.
when the oak spread its roots,
as the fig tree stands in gracious indifference.
the birch with all her peeling layers,
mourns for the pine that is alive no more.
from the trunk of the elm to the tips of the dogwood
so life goes on as it should.
like the leaves of the palm trees,
that glimmer in the sun.
and the bristles of the cones,
that drip with falling snow.
so life goes on as it should:
to the ends of the earth
to the soil in the ground
to the stars in the sky
so life goes on.
as all trees know-
life goes on as it should.
