Up and Down

All of a sudden we started talking
And my whole life was bright
But then again things at home were bad
And it seemed like nothing was alright

I lay awake at 10 o'clock
Wishing my dad was here
But then again i knew the past
And expected he was drinking a beer

Nobody should have to live like that
And be apart from the love
But not all families live that way
So people just look up above

All children need their parents
And need the heart and care
But you look at some and think about it all
How could parents not be aware

Some lives are good and some are bad
But everyone is able to see
If a life is dying or scared of the truth
You think about who actually loves me

When you look around in those tired eyes
You start to think about love
But when you see nothing and sart to get scared
Look for your friend up above
