Dust Imprisoned Angel

by Brigitte   May 11, 2006

Frozen forever in one stance
A child’s play thing at one glance
No one knows of the secrets she holds
A time capsule of dreams untold

Time and love hath withered her appearance
A tiny angel once bought on clearance
But behind her mysteriously beautiful smile
Lies the undying love of a child

Golden locks of bouncy curls
Have aged to the color of pearls
And her dress, made of lace
Lies tattered from a child’s embrace

Her crystal eyes have turned to gray
But behind them lies no dismay
Her lips remain pursed tight
Holding trusted secrets with all her might

Years have passed and still she stands
Ready to play on command
A time-worn doll filled with love
A dust imprisoned angel sent from above
