The Art of Language

by Michael D Nalley   May 12, 2006

If we could express what we feel with 'language art'
Would we express our mind, or soul with our whole heart?
Would our sacred soul savor what our heart would surely sing While our mysterious mind could not think of anything?

Everything is beautiful in a wonderful way
The void of space must give way to make a great day
Language is created words, and all begins with thought
Language paints the picture of what creation has brought

The mind is the mover that causes us to think
Its language has been recorded by pen and ink
When a poet dies what strength really departs?
Many pour their heart and soul into language arts

I feel like language-art should be hypenated.. it feels like a phrase

I think you meant 'surely' instead of 'surly'.

I liked the poem, I thought it was thought provoking, especially the question posed in the second to last line.

It is a good poem, but it doesn't really make much sense.

This piece is fantastic, the concept is brilliant and well implemented. i really don't feel worthy to comment upon it, and it is defiantly out of my league for any real critic, but just thought I’d leave a comment to say that I think this is defiantly one of the best pieces I have ever read on this site.
