Thirteen and Loving It

by Avrii Monrielle   May 12, 2006

Okay, so I can't be 3x4 ever again
But at least for once I have caring friends

Today I get new privileges
And I can say my words
Till they reach the paper's edges
Today I can be heard

Today I get to watch PG-13 all alone
And I can chill when I'm staying at home

Today I don't get a lot of presents
But I don't frankly care
I feel just content
Knowing you'll always be there

I might not be a little kid
But I can still be LITTLE
And I might be too tall for my age
But I want to live for the thrills

I might not be thin
I might not be fat
I might have weird hair
But I will NEVER hide it with a hat

I like being me
And I always will be
Myself... no matter how much people push me

So... even though I'm 13
I still will be me
Just like I was
When I was 12

I'm thankful for life
And I do what's right
So there's no need to worry
If next year I'll be 14
