I have cascaded
Into the darkness
It was silent
Tidy
Yet smelled of
cheap perfume.
In gratitude
It was a wonder
To look at
And think
Of all the many things
I will never
See again.
I have followed
The shallow river
It was calm
Almost timid
Yet wreaked of
Regret.
Out of respect
It was mighty long
And its
distinctive curve
Led me straight
To home.
