Perfection

by Arti   May 13, 2006

If there is something man strives for
Uncomplainingly, tirelessly, undeviatingly
It is Perfection.

An imaginary state of flawlessness
Unattained, inscrutable product of
Man’s fertile imagination.

A classic example of scathing inability
A never ending saga of wasted, useless
And unfruitful infatuation.

The thought that germinated in a mind
Thinking for want of better employment
It is an unwanted burden

An idea that captivates a developing mind
Gripping and holding captive the intellect
Getting undeserved attention.

If we are imperfect and are therefore
Supposed to achieve this state, what
Are the requisitions?

Who has now attained this state
That he has the experience to guide up to
And explain this condition?

To sail through and stand up to obstacles
Paramount, who has the strength, the capacity,
The unwavering determination?

Noble goal though it innocently seems,
It is but a mirage, a magical dream,
A very enticing hallucination.
