I Am Safe With You.

by Not Bulletproof   May 14, 2006

Hold onto me, whilst I cry into your arms,
I am safe with you; I am safe from all harms,
You remind me that our time together is not the past,
That the tears I shed now, will not always last.
Your eyes are my security blanket in the dark,
And the words you speak, warm up my frost-bitten heart.
Where I was once upon a time stabbed in the back,
You heal the wounds and give me the trust I did lack.
The wounds I carved, to display my hard anger,
You take care of them, and you make them all better.
You trace the scars and weep on the inside,
So scared that I could have gone too far and died.
Your fear is reassuring and comforts my weak soul,
For, without your care, my life would have taken it's toll.
I care for you as you care so deeply for me;
Who knew that it's each other that we would need?
As you wipe the tears from my pale, frightened face,
I feel safe to be in this friendly, happy place.
I know you; I know that it is you here by my side,
You don't frighten me, what does is the images inside.
But no, it's not you, it's the past; I am safe with you,
And you'll show me the present; I know you'll pull me through.

For those confused: I wrote this about my boyfriend. Often I have flash-backs of my past, and I have what I call "freak out" moments. My boyfriend is always there to reassure me that I'm safe with him, and I know that I am. I love you Scott.
Thanks for reading -xxx-.
