RISE

by Brutal Passion   May 14, 2006

Silent cries are heard in the midst of my devotion,
to my Savior, the God of gods, who's ears and mind are greatly opened.
Focused on my emotions
of pain caused by the enemy's corrosive attempts of extortion.
Though I try not to show this,
He knows all, for He handpicked the chosen,
making me a proportion
of the few, here to prove
that He is Almighty and Glorious.

Concerned, He asks, "My child, why do you ignore when I knock on your door?"
I answer, "Lord, forgive me, but I can no more."
And with that, I turn my back
on the one who truly adores
this poor lost child, who is sure
he can no more.
But thereafter, I felt emptiness unlike before.
Strong sadness in my soul, no longer feeling secure.
Therefore, I lived a life falling through the earth's core.
Living in a rosebush without the roses, only the thorns.

Fooled by the enemy's dexterity,
I began to believe
that he was apart of me,
and it soon became a dread to me.
But suddenly,
on this night, unexpectedly,
the voice of my Lord came to me,
blessing me.
This is what He said to me:

My child, I've watched and heard how the enemy's lied to you.
But the time has come to turn those lies into truth.

For every step that you took, I took one by your side.
And every tear that you cried,
I put my glory inside.
All those times you felt alone,
it was in your mind.
For all those times were to make you strong,
and in My name, you shall RISE.
