Night touch

by Princess Demonica   May 14, 2006

Icy tendrils of mist crawl
around my ankles.
Moon shimmers across
the dewy lawn.

Golden lights shoot
around the ruin.
Transforming the mossy rock
into former grandeur

Sleeping woodland nymphs
skip through fairy rings.
Resting for brief moments to
look at their reflections on the water.

The leaves on the trees
glow with emerald brilliance.
Spider's silk gowns flutter
thought the indigo sky

The golden stars shoot
across the vast dark.
Night blooms open to
praise the night people.

The dew soaked grass
enlivens the air
with it's promising scent.

Smothering the thunderous clapping.
Applause rings from every branch
until the dawn

It's true what they say
on the night of midsummer.
You can really be taken
by the night
